Engagements

Got some new bling?

Below, you’ll find everything you need to know before booking your engagement session. If you have any questions along the way, feel free to reach out—I’m here to help!

Once you’ve booked your date, I’ll send over a style guide to help you choose the perfect outfits for your session. Can’t wait to work with you!

Engagement sessions are included in every package, but if you want to book before you find a photographer for the wedding, sessions start at $600.

Why you need an

Engagement Sesh

Think of your engagement session as a fun “dry run” for the wedding day! You’ll get a feel for how I work behind the camera, so you’ll know exactly what to expect on the big day. At the same time, I get to see how you both naturally interact in front of the camera. Since we might not have the chance to meet in person before booking, the engagement session could be our first time connecting!

Everyone expresses their love in their own unique way. By getting to know you two better during the session, I’ll be able to capture your personalities authentically on your wedding day. So, don’t hold back—just be yourselves! I want to capture the real you.

Picking a Date

When it comes to scheduling your engagement photos, it’s totally up to you! I’ve had couples book their sessions years in advance or as close as two days before the wedding. The most important thing is that we have time to get to know each other before your big day—everything else is just a fun bonus!

Factors in picking a date:

  • Weekdays only, best at sunset
  • Keep in mind the weather, avoid the really hot months
  • Fall is my busiest time, so get your date on the calendar early
  • If using photos for save the dates, I recommend 8 months prior to the wedding.

Finding the

Perfect Spot

There are so many amazing locations around the Baltimore area (and beyond) for your engagement session! The key is to choose a spot that reflects your personalities as a couple. Think about places that are meaningful to you both—where you first met, your favorite hangout, a spot you love to take walks, or even a place that’s special to your daily routine. The location should feel authentic to you, so pick somewhere that holds a personal connection! Here are a few of my favorites spots:

Hampton Mansion, Towson

Mt Vernon, Baltimore

Maryland Agricultural Center, Hunt Valley

Fells Point, Baltimore

Federal Hill, Baltimore

Cromwell Valley Park

Cylburn Arborteum

Shrine of St Anthony, Ho Co

Marshy Point State Park

Bromo Seltzer Arts Clock Tower (fee required)

Washington, DC

Terrapin Beach, (over Bay Bridge)

What is your turnaround time?
Turnaround time is approxiamtely 2 weeks for marathons.
My best tip for engagement sessions!!
Many brides have never had their makeup professionally done before, and it can be a bit of a surprise if you’re not used to it. That’s why I recommend scheduling your makeup trial for the day of your engagement session. This gives you a chance to try out a look that will be perfect for your wedding photos, while also making sure you’re comfortable with it. Eyelashes can really enhance and open up your eyes in photos, but it’s best to try them out beforehand. Your engagement session is the perfect opportunity to test everything out before the big day!
What is the best time of the day?

The best time for your engagement session is during golden hour—the hour just before sunset or, if you’re more of an early riser, the hours after sunrise. This is when the sunlight is warm and soft, creating a beautiful, flattering glow with no harsh shadows.

Most couples prefer the sunset timing, so I recommend starting about 2 hours before sunset. The exact time varies throughout the year, but this gives us a little flexibility in case it’s cloudy or if there are large trees or buildings at your location that could block the sun before the actual sunset time. This way, we can still capture that gorgeous light!

Black & White vs Color
All photos are shot in color! I typically turn about 20% into black and white—like duplicates or shots that scream B&W vibes. Don’t worry though, if you prefer them all in color, just let me know at booking and I’ll keep it all bright and bold!

Proposals

Your proposal is a moment you’ll want to remember forever. As a photographer, I focus on capturing the genuine emotion and excitement of this special occasion, all while staying discreet and out of the way. Whether it’s an intimate, private moment or a grand surprise, I’ll be there to capture it.

Proposals include a quick 15 minute shoot after to help capture the excitement!
